CHALLENGES THE CLIENT FACED
The Journey Back in Time was my group's response to a creative project that integrated a fictional movie, its promotional materials, and finally, bringing this experience beyond a screen into the physical space. This came with a myriad of challenges, from deciding the movie name, to the logo design of the production company, figuring out the types of promotional materials to use, included, but not limited to their mockups and the central collaborator for the event in the physical realm.

To mitigate the challenges faced, our group first chose to focus on the logo of the production company making it accurately reflect the themes and values of the company.

Next, the story premise was decided and
would be superhero themed, with a set of superheroes and villains. Logo design for these characters was the next step, followed by designing the promotional materials that were going to be used.
For our collaborator, we chose Singapore Comic Con and went a step further by reaching out to them and asking them if they'd be interested in an idea like this. They told us that they would be, and so we chose them as our partners for our project. The mobile game app mockup and website were the final steps of the entire process.
PROBLEM RESOLUTION

KEY TAKEAWAYS AND
SIGNIFICANT RESULTS
One of the most significant takeaways was
an insight into the process of marketing a movie and finding collaborators for promoting it. The brainstorming process was very fruitful because it enabled me to think in different ways, and present my ideas in visual form.
The logo development process was a huge learning experience as well, because designing a different logo for each hero and villain needed ideas of what kind of colours and graphics would best represent them and their multi-faceted personalities.

Pushing the message that 'anyone can be a hero' and 'you can be a hero too' encouraged audience engagement and transformed the way people viewed the movie in unique,
novel ways.

Our Logo - An In-depth Analysis

For the logo, we chose something ecstatic and vibrant with a comic-based font and heavy shadows to emphasise it. TMC stood for 'The Travelling Movie Company' It was created with a transparent body to ensure that it could be used as different variations according to the background or type of design. An idea like this took inspiration from the Warners Brothers Logo which also offers similar logo/logotype variations depending on the context of the situation, but unlike ours, did not embrace transparency. Ours was a production company that would embrace new ideas and push the boundaries of what was possible, denoted by the two lightning bolts on the side of the central logotype. To illustrate the logo in
a more concrete way, a white background
has been chosen here.
