CHALLENGES OF
THE PROJECT
A business card is an essential part of showing and promoting a business' services for clients and plays a vital role in their outreach. For this assignment, I was tasked to create 3 different sets of business cards promoting my own
services, as well as creating 3 supplementary monograms to match.

Typographic structures were compared to determine the best combinations for the typography that would convey the feelings I strove to entice as a graphic designer. The cards also involved careful structural planning.

PROBLEM
RESOLUTION
Choosing the right typography was truly very challenging & it required heavy typographical research. I chose a set of fonts that would be spread across the entire set of business cards, and chose to maintain the same font for the main contact information to create a sense of familiarity and consistency.
I chose a variety of typography and made several adjustments to the layouts of each of the business cards, giving them a unique feel & look. Bold colours were given to accentuate the details of the cards and of
the monograms themselves, making them striking examples which would also be very difficult to miss even when printed out in a physical form.
The bold colour choice was based on actual statistics - A potential customer is expected to hold on to a coloured business card 10x longer than a standard white one. In fact, a business card has a 1000% better chance of not getting thrown away if the background is coloured.

KEY TAKEAWAYS AND
SIGNIFICANT RESULTS
Striking colours, bold design and out-of-the-box monograms helped me learn all the essential components to keep in mind when
designing a business card, and a monogram.
The brainstorming and research phase of the project truly helped me gain a much deeper understanding of how business cards have developed throughout history, and how their applications today impact businesses.

With over 10 billion business cards printed in the United States alone, the demand to create flamboyant, memorable cards is higher than ever. I learnt all about the experimentation process needed to truly create a card that would stand out from the crowd.
