KEY TAKEAWAYS & SIGNIFICANT RESULTS

1) Due to the newness of the organisation, the team was very limited which meant my communications with Tyler were more direct, and he often asked for my insights into the ways the organisation could spread their message. As our team grew, we realised that some of the issues lay in finding ways our message could reach people on different channels.

2) The organisation also struggled with sponsor acquisition and funding due to its nature as a non-profit. Our team was additionally assigned the task of boosting outreach and drawing in new sponsors.

1) Worked closely with a highly dynamic, global team to propagate content for Asian Americans and create content that brought in more sponsors. Directly worked with the co-founder of 8by8 to create brand content, and provided detailed design feedback on early models, including design and social media trends pertaining to our industry. Helping the brand discover new tools to grow its branding strategy was also something I advised on.

2) Collaborated on designs to constantly modify content in various ways to create a strong impact. The evolvement of 8by8 from a one-time challenge to an independent entity thanks to the efforts of me and my team provided a huge boost in engagement. Created vector illustrations that were on brand and pushed the message of the organisation.

3) While retaining the values of the organisation, it also held its own individual properties and we were able to reach, impact and engage a larger audience than ever thought before. Therefore, we increased audience engagement and encouraged radical change by calling for people to vote in the US elections.

1) Thanks to all the brand outreach work by me and my team, 8by8 received a great amount of sponsorship and was invited to collaborate with brands across a spectrum of industries. Notable names included Saltalk, Artly, DingDing TV, Hobees and AsianBox.

2) Greater Impact: Our efforts of increasing our impact paid off with the #StopAsianHate and #StopAAPIHate hashtags being used on Twitter more than 8.4 million and 2.5 million times, respectively in 2021 (Source: Vox).

3) One of the biggest achievements of the Stop Asian Hate movement is that it raised awareness about the pervasiveness of anti-Asian racism (Source: Vox).

4) Our social media engagement saw a massive positive shift. On Instagram, the number of followers grew by 848% and we were able to establish a brand new TikTok channel to push our message. TikTok followers grew by 3100% in just 2 months since account integration.
